So this guy from Erie came up with this idea at like 3 in the morning for curing cancer using radio waves. Genius by itself...but, when you add the fact that a by-product of this invention is that he can also set salt water on fire (thus making it combustible enough to be a fuel source)...well, I'll let the video blow your mind for me. Video Games turn 40 today

May 15th marks the 40 year anniversary of the first games hooked up to the television. An article on the 1up site tells the story of Ralph Baer, Bill Harrison, and Bill Rusch working at the Sanders Associates company on a little game called Pong. Heroes Spinoff

Heroes is launching a new series to tide watchers over till the new season starts. The new show has been ordered for six episodes, and will introduce a completely new set of characters. The coolest part: In an effort to make the show interactive (and, I'm guessing, to squash what is going to be some griping by "Heroes" fans who are unhappy that the original show won't return in September), NBC will ask fans to vote on which is the new characters is their favorite, and that character will then become a regular cast member on the original series. I'm not sure how much to believe this, but a seller on eBay is auctioning off solid gold iPhones. If you're interested, you can buy the 8GB model for the rock bottom price of $10,000, or it that's too rich for your blood $9500 will snag you the 4GB version. A new kind of 'power plant'?

From a distance, as we rounded a bend and first caught sight of it, I couldn't believe the strange structure ahead of me was actually real. The tower looked like it was being hosed with giant sprays of water or was somehow being squirted with jets of pale gas. I had trouble working it out.

In fact, as we found out when we got closer, the rays of sunlight reflected by a field of 600 huge mirrors are so intense they illuminate the water vapour and dust hanging in the air. It is Europe's first commercially operating power station using the Sun's energy this way and at the moment its operator, Solucar, proudly claims that it generates 11 Megawatts (MW) of electricity without emitting a single puff of greenhouse gas. This current figure is enough to power up to 6,000 homes.

Dell is finally giving customers a real choice in their operating systems. During a recent survey, Dell received an overwhelming amount of requests for machines preloaded with Ubuntu. According to a Dell blog, the systems should be available in the next few weeks.
